A Champagne of character with a lively, intense nose, playing on the aromas of summer fruits: pear, quince, fruit preserves. This fruitiness is long on the palate, a sign of the elegance and complexity of this cuvée. The Blanc de Noirs will reveal all its aromas with a fillet of doe or a guinea fowl with mushrooms.

Chateau Aspras, Tomares Ballus, Côtes de Provence 2023

Domaine Aspras, situated near Correns in the heart of Provence, is owned by Michael Latz and run today by his three sons Raphael, Alexandre and Sébastien. The vineyard has been certified organic since 1996, now using biodynamic practices under the guidance of vineyard manager Robert Nourrisson, ex of neighbouring Ch. Miraval. Their compost is made from their own cattle and sheep manure, some plots are ploughed by horse and sheep keep down the weeds amongst the vines. The wine is named after the Tomares Ballus butterfly, once native to the Var region, but nearly eradicated by the pesticides used in the 70’s and 80’s, now making a return due to organic practices. This classic pale coloured rosé is made from Grenache and Cinsault, offering attractive floral red fruits on the nose and a nice depth of fruit on the palate too, a definite step up from the norm.

Château de Roquefort is ideally situated in the Côtes de Provence appellation area, between the Sainte Baume massif, which rises to an altitude of 1042 metres, and the Calanques National Park. The relief is made up of high plateaus, where the vines are grown organically (certified in 2006) and biodynamically at an altitude of 390 metres in the hollow of an imposing rocky cirque on terraces with clay-limestone soils. A very pretty Provence wine with just the right amount of ripe and fresh fruit. The balance on the palate is impeccable. This is a wine that will be a delight with meat in sauce.

Chateau Ormes des Pez, Bordeaux

Some very old ormes (elm trees), which no longer exist, account for the name of this property, whose history can be traced back to the 18th century. The 35-hectare vineyard is located around the hamlet of Pez and is divided into two main plots, in the center and north of the commune of Saint-Estephe. Chateau Ormes des Pez has very homogenous soil (a clay gravel mixture typical of Saint-Estephe) and many of the vines are quite old. The grapes are hand-picked. After selecting the vats and blending, the wine is aged in oak barrels for 15 months in a magnificent cellar overlooking the courtyard. The 2016 vintage was characterised by a relatively early bud break, a wet spring, ideal flowering, a hot dry summer resulting in the progressive introduction of water supply constraints and an autumn conducive to ripening, bringing just a few millimetres of necessary rainfall.

Châteauneuf du Pape, Famille Lançon, Domaine de la Solitude, Rouge, Barberini

226,00
Cuvée Barberini Red – It is a tribute to our ancestors the Barberini Family, produced when the vintage allows it from a special selection from our domaine, well known for its concentration and its opulence. The modern winemaking style, with optimization of the extraction but without excess, gives a powerful wine with silky tannins. Depending on the vintage, a part more or less is aged 16 months in barrels, and then when the blending is made, is going to spend 6 months in tanks for a perfect integration. Impressive wine, with a significant purity and density, can best be served for tasting between 4 and 15 years at least after the vintage year.
